CITY FLOODING AND TSUNAMI EVENTS
When the water rises, familiar streets disappear beneath the surface and buildings become islands. The city you know can turn into a very different place.
Head for higher ground, find a way across the water and keep an eye on the streets below. A road that was clear moments ago may no longer offer a way home.
How far will the water rise, and what will be left behind when it recedes? Until then, the rooftops offer a new view of familiar surroundings.
HOW THE WEATHER WORKS
The weather changes across the city. Sunshine can develop into haze, fog or cloud; unsettled weather can lead to rain, thunderstorms and snow. The next stage is chosen from the current conditions, so the forecast is not a fixed repeating schedule.
Typical clear spells last 10–30 real minutes, mist or cloud stages 5–15 minutes, and rain or snow stages 3–7 minutes. The visual transition takes roughly 15–45 seconds.
Wind strength, wind direction, rain intensity and temperature also vary between weather changes. Temperature depends on the weather and time of day, cooling overnight. The vehicle display receives the temperature in Fahrenheit along with wind information. The world clock normally runs at three times real time: one game minute takes 20 seconds and a full day takes eight real hours.
Rain gradually washes dirt off the vehicle you occupy. The full winter weather stage adds snowy vehicle trails, footprints and winter effects. Some property interiors use their own fixed clear, nighttime lighting, so the inside view can differ from outdoors.
When the ground is snowy during winter, stand still outside on foot and press X to pick up a snowball. You can also craft a snowball with five ice. Use the snowball from your inventory to equip it, then aim at another player and use your normal throw control. Bring a few if you want to keep the snowball fight going.
TORNADOES
A dark funnel on the horizon can turn an ordinary journey into a scramble for shelter. As the winds build and debris fills the air, familiar streets become a place you may not want to linger.
Keep your distance and watch the sky. Some sights are better witnessed from somewhere safe.
UFO ENCOUNTERS
Not every light above the city belongs to an aircraft you recognize. Something unfamiliar may appear over the hills or hang silently above a deserted road, leaving more questions than answers.
A glimpse from the ground may only be the beginning. Get close enough and you might discover that the view from inside is stranger still. Where it came from, and where it could take you, are mysteries to uncover.
FIND SASQUATCH
Deep in the mountains, something moves between the trees. Venture far enough from the city lights and you may find yourself face to face with a creature most people dismiss as a campfire story.
Keep your eyes on the treeline and think twice before following a shape into the wilderness. Finding Sasquatch is one thing; getting close enough to learn more is another. Those who survive the encounter may claim unusual spoils found nowhere else. What the mountain legend leaves behind is yours to discover.
ORGANIZED ARENA EVENTS
The arena can be set up with Dystopian, Sci-fi or Wasteland scenery and different layouts. These are organizer-controlled event settings, so follow the announced meeting point and participation instructions.
An arena layout does not by itself define a prize, entry fee or competition rules. Those belong to the particular event. Bring the equipment requested by its organizer and wait for the start signal.
