USE YOUR INVENTORY
Press F2 to open your inventory. Select the item you want to use, move or give, and check the amount before confirming. An item with a use action can open a device, consume food or medicine, deploy equipment or start a specialized activity.
For a direct trade, open the other player's interaction menu and choose Give an item or Give cash. Check the selected recipient and quantity. Vehicle keys have their own transfer action; moving an ordinary item does not transfer vehicle or property ownership.
Different containers accept different contents. Personal inventory, trunk, glovebox, property storage, weapon lockers, fridges and card storage are separate places. Close the current container before approaching another, and avoid leaving yourself without the tool or access item needed for your next activity.
GIVE ITEMS AND CASH
Stand near the person you want to trade with, face them and press F7 (default binding), or use /interact. Choose Give / payments, select an item or cash, and enter the requested amount. Check the selected person before completing the transfer. Bills are available through the same menu. Money and billing.
TRUNK AND GLOVEBOX STORAGE
Outside a vehicle, face it and choose Open trunk storage in the vehicle menu. Inside, choose Open glovebox. These are separate containers, and the menu only offers them where the vehicle and access rules allow.
Choose a quantity before moving an item between your inventory and the container. Cash, marked money, ordinary items and weapons are represented separately. Check which side of the inventory you are moving from, especially when storing a large quantity.
Vehicle containers have capacity and availability checks. Close the inventory when finished and secure the car; a glovebox is not the same as a private home safe. Opening the trunk door and opening its storage inventory are also separate actions.
SAFES AND PLACED STORAGE
Approach a placed container and press E to open it. Only one person can use a safe at a time; wait for the other person to close it. Ordinary safes distinguish their owner from visitors and can use a numeric password. A wrong password triggers an alarm.
Owners can set a numeric safe password from 1 to 10,000 through the storage password action. Share it only with people you want to admit. A safe without a password can expose a safe-cracking interaction to a non-owner; leaving it blank is not the same as granting secure private access.
To move a container, empty all its items, weapons, cash and marked money first. Stand beside it and use /pickupstorage. If anything remains, the pickup refuses with Storage isn't empty. Property and container permissions still apply.
TOOLS AND USABLE EQUIPMENT
Fishing rods, gathering tools, repair equipment, medical supplies, drones, notepads and other usable items connect the inventory to the rest of the city. Read the relevant guide before buying specialist equipment. Trash containers can also be searched for scavenged items.
